One-day excursion to Armenia from Tbilisi

Akhtala Monastery. One of the largest monastic complexes, which has unique features of Armenian medieval architecture: picturesqueness, harmony with the environment, territorial balance. We will explore churches and khachkars, look into the chapel, bell tower and refectory. We will reveal the historical significance of the Akhtala fortress and discuss the legends associated with its name.

Lunch in an Armenian family. You will taste homemade dishes, aromatic coffee and feel the atmosphere of a traditional Armenian lunch. At the table we will discuss culinary traditions and features of local cuisine.

Alaverdi. This ancient city is located on the steep banks of the Debed River among picturesque wooded mountains. Observing Alaverdi from above, you will notice the sharp contrast of the mountain range with multi-story Soviet-style buildings. This place resembles part of a large city, transported into landscapes of primeval beauty.

House-museum of the Mikoyan brothers. On the opening day - in 1982 - two valuable exhibits were brought here from Moscow: a MIG aircraft and Artyom Mikoyan’s official car. You will explore the museum's collection and learn about the brothers' contributions to the political and social history of Armenia.

Sanakhi Monastery. It was founded in the 10th century. This is where the oldest Armenian library is located. The guide will tell you about the influence of the monastery on the religious and cultural life of the country.
